Living With A Subaru WRX

So I got a 2011 Subaru WRX. Big change for me being Nissan fan/owner all my life. I was destined to be the owner of a 300zx tt, 350z and now 370z. I was in love with the Z cars going back to the Datsun 280z.
The wrx is not a living thing but it sure makes life worth living. I mean... how many people can say I like to drive to work>? Perhaps thats because of where I work but thats another article.

The wrx is absolutely amazing in regards to performance out of the box. Its the best bang for the buck but there are a few drawbacks.
No worthy modifications allowed. Maybe the short throw but that should be standard...wtf Subaru.
Factory map is choking this beotch! Thats based on gains from tune with little mods...after all I dont want to void my warranty.
The stock radio is a joke! Usb port and aux jack in the center console make that even worse because you can get your mp3 in other car but the radio sucks so bad its torture. Adding weight via box/amp is not an option for me. The radio has bass/mid/high adjustments that just dont seem to work. Its got features but lacks sound quality. Similar sound quality to the two knob in the Jeep with 4x6 speakers. Speaker placement and phase are the worst. Ofcourse a true car guy/gal would want to hear and feel the engine and I am often driving without the radio.
Subaru service BLOWS! and the warranty is a burden. I would NOT suggest buying a new Subaru if your into performance. Buy a used one with/without mods and go to town with it. Its a double edged sword...I feel like I can't touch my car except for overpriced noise-maker exhaust and warranty seems useless because Subaru service cant even tighten a oil cap or put the correct amount of oil in a car. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. I will never use Subaru service again. I gave them two chances and they blew it on both occasions. Mileage may vary.
OK, enough of the sour shit. Back to the car. I get goosebumps nearly everytime I drive it. The wrx's raw power makes it so thrilling to drive.
There is a unity on the road with other wrx/sti owners similar to a Jeep Wrangler but not as strong. You almost always get a wave or some sort of "whats up" gesture. I even got one from an arch rival Lancer owner! Car culture runs deep and this sucker carries much respect on the road.
The creeps on the road seem to be attracted to this thing like a moth to a flame. You know the bald f'ker driving a minivan hating life that feels its his civic duty to enforce the speed limit because your car looks fast. It sucks but its true, this baby also brings out the haters.
Another bit coolness to mention is that it takes a supercar to embarrass you in this thing. Its so wicked fast you need Cobra+ or Z06 to take you down. Ofcourse I have to mention the GT40 who entertained me. I bowed down like Garth from Waynes World saying Im Not Worthy! I feel like I have to mention I dont condone street racing of any sort on public roads.
Overall I am enjoying the wrx. Its a great buy if you want something insane from the factory on a limited budget. If I could I would go with a GTR or GT3.
